Babies have a few favorite activities.  One of them is looking at other babies.  In Baby Faces, Margaret Miller takes close-ups of different babies each with an expression relating to a common occurrence in their young lives.  This book is short and simple.  And it is very sturdy, which is a good thing, since your baby will want to chew on it endlessly.

 

It is a struggle to find books for very young children that will capture their attention.  This book will do that, over and over again.  As your baby grows, they will identify with the different faces as they relate to the words and emotions associated with the pictures.

 

The main purpose of reading to very young children is to connect and bond.  My granddaughter Ella certainly doesn't understand the words or concepts, but she loves the attention and the sound of my voice.  This book makes it easy to spend a little time with her.  Ella is approaching her first birthday, and she is already beginning to associate the faces with her own experiences.
