This is a great video to quiet and calm your baby. The music is serene and soothing, the images are soft and familiar, and the movement is stimulating, but slow and easy to follow. Animal puppets and toys act out simple scenes of basic movement that are sure to capture your baby's attention. There is a lot of repetition throughout the video as different animal characters reappear throughout different segments and are involved in slightly varied tasks each time. Each image is basic with a minimal background and only a few things to look at any one time. The simplicity helps to un-clutter your baby's environment and will produce a comfortable and quiet setting.
Your baby may point at different things on screen, or they may just gaze contentedly as the simple story lines unfold. You can help to accentuate your baby's experience by pointing out familiar things, being silly, or using some of your own sound effects. All of these activities can help maximize the experience between you and your baby.
When I watched this video with 16-month-old Allison, I noticed that she would calm down after a few minutes. She was content to observe the puppets or toys on the screen and seemed to enjoy the slow and gentle pace of the music. As she calmed down, so did I, and the two of us were able to cuddle and enjoy the relaxing moments in a special way.

Baby Prodigy Company founder, Barbara Candiano-Marcus created this video because she was trying to find a solution for her young daughter's colic. However, after much research, she decided that what she really wanted to do was help parents raise smarter, happier children.
The video shows parents fun activities they can engage in to help stimulate their child's learning. The characters, Dookie and Dottie Duck entertain children using everyday objects found in any household.
Parents, grandparents and caregivers should interact with the child while he or she is watching the program. Since the activities are easily replicated, parents can participate while the video is being played.
Candiano-Marcus is the author of the parenting book Baby Prodigy: A Guide to Raising a Smarter, Happier Baby, which is published by Random House. She is also a parenting expert and regularly appears on television and radio programs where she discusses parenting issues. In the past, she has produced children's programming. The music on this video is specially orchestrated classical music by Emmy award-winning composer, Neil Argo.
