School days are here again and Curious George can't wait to go!
There's so much to learn and do at school, and new friends to meet,
too. Come along with George in eight fun-filled episodes of his PBS
Kids TV series as he discovers that you can learn new things at
school, at home, and everywhere in between.

George discovers that there are lessons to be learned everywhere - in the
classroom, at home, out in the city, and even in a dog park. Divided
into eight short segments, this video follows George on his adventures
as he accompanies a friend to kindergarten, learns to bake a cake,
trains a dog to do tricks, and much more. Valuable lessons emerge from
each of George's experiences, and the moral of the story is reinforced
at the end of each episode with video footage of real kids addressing
what George has just experienced.

The episodes in this video will help your child realize the importance
of planning and problem solving. George consults a map to track down a
bus, reads a recipe to bake a cake, creates tools for the man in the
yellow hat to use after he's injured himself, and builds an obstacle
course to train a dog, all because he has realized a problem and set
about to solve it. The children featured at the end of each episode
have learned from George's resourcefulness and demonstrate how they
face and overcome problems in their everyday life - from starting
kindergarten to redesigning a classroom.

My five-year-old nephew began preschool this year, and this video
helped him understand that going to a classroom was something to be
excited about, not frightened. We often build forts together, and he
loved watching George build a castle out of classroom furniture. And,
knowing that he was feeling nervous about his first day of school, we
were both so glad when a little girl came on the video following the
"Guest Monkey" episode to say, "If your going to kindergarten, don't
worry about it. It's fun."
