Elmo, everyone's favorite lovable red Sesame Street monster, introduces children to beaches, skin and cameras in this summer vacation themed video. Kids, especially two-and three-year-olds, will love the fun approach Elmo takes to the topics, including songs, Q-and-As and humorous clips. Many of Elmo's friends, including Dorothy the goldfish, the silly Mr. Noodle and other Sesame Street characters, make appearances throughout the video as well.
The video is conveniently broken up into three segments, which gives you the option of letting your child watch the whole 51 minute video in one sitting or divide it into three clips. Each section follows the same format: Dorothy's question (How do you spread your beach towel at the beach?; What do you do when the skin on your back itches?; and How do you take pictures with a camera?), Mr. Noodle's hilariously animated response, a counting game and a what-belongs game (i.e. do you go sledding, take a bath or play in the sand at the beach?). There's also an Elmo's e-mail segment, a short and funny cartoon clip about the subject via the TV and a lesson from one of Elmo's child friends. Kids will learn a great deal about the various things that skin can do, how cameras have evolved and the importance of wearing sunscreen at the beach.
As a fan of Elmo, Emily watched this video completely mesmerized from start to finish. She said that she loves the beach and thought that playing in the sand looked like fun! At one point, a seagull steals Elmo's hat and he then decided to look for a replacement. When he placed his shorts on his hat and called them his hat-shorts or shorts-hat, Emily collapsed in a fit of giggles. As a budding gymnast, she was also amused by Elmo's photo album, which included a photo of him doing a handstand.
