Helen Oxenbury's brilliant board books have delighted a generation of babies. Now from the most widely loved of artists comes a reissue of a board book to help very young children explore their worlds. In I Can, a baby creates his own wonders as he jumps and stretches and dances. Full of character and humor, this charming book forms a winsome introduction to creativity and movement.

Show your little one all that they will soon be doing with, I can. The lessons are straightforward to help teach your baby all the motions they can do. The drawings are simple outlines of a cute cartoon baby crawling, jumping, sliding, stretching, and more. An all-white background directs focus on the baby, who is wearing just one to three colors at a time. There is a single word on each page to emphasize what the baby is doing, as the pictures are the primary learning tool.

The book's physical stature is small with thick board pages, so your little one can help turn the pages. You can make the book interactive by pointing at the pictures, or even helping your little one mimic the actions on each page. You can hold them up to 'stand', lift them up to 'jump', or help them wiggle to 'dance'. If your little one is not in the mood to participate themselves, you can personally demonstrate the baby's actions, crawling, stamping, sliding, and bending.

While acting out the motions of each page for my friend, Talmidge, when he was 10 months old, I was very proud to get a few smiles from him. He even giggled when I tried to show him dancing. Granted, everyone else who saw was giggling too.
