Without question, most kids love being silly and goofy. This joke-filled book offers children ages two and up their first glimpse into the world of knock, knock jokes. With 10 child-friendly riddles, kids will quickly pick up on the knock, knock format and giggle their way through the book. The illustrations are bright and humorously detailed in the depictions of various animals set on a colorful solid background.
All the jokes are based on a person's name, such as a dirty pig named Anita with the punch line, "Anita bath." While the knock, knocks maybe won't elicit many laughs on their own from adults, expect lots of giggles from your child while you read the story. Your child's laughter may very well cause you to see the silliness of it all too. Regardless, this is a wonderful way for kids to begin to fill their knock, knock repertoire, which will, without a doubt, continue to grow over the coming years.
I shared these jokes with Emily, the little girl that I babysit. It took us a few read-throughs for her to understand the format of the jokes but once she got the hang of it, she loved it. Many people have now been subjected to knock, knock jokes followed by peals of little girl giggles.
