Young readers will slither in delight!
Turtles, lizards, snakes, alligators and crocodiles galore! This educational Dr. Seuss book explores the wide world of reptiles in a fun and exciting manner that children will love. The facts are interesting and child-friendly while the colorful illustrations feature classic Dr. Seuss characters, such as the Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2, in a slightly more realistic manner than the typical Dr. Seuss cartoon setting. Children will love traveling with the Cat in the Hat in his Crocodile Car as they learn that baby alligators weight the same as a candy bar and iguanas sneeze salt out of their noses.
This is a great book to share with your child before a trip to the zoo. Learning these interesting facts about reptiles will make kids even more excited to see their favorite animals. Kids can pick out their favorite reptiles and, since the book is conveniently separated into sections by animal, you can choose to focus on just one set of reptiles or skip a grouping if you're child happens to dislike snakes.
Even as an adult, I found the book to have many intriguing facts that I never knew. I shared the story with Emily, the three-year-old I babysit, and she loved the Seuss-style illustrations, especially the crocodile car that the Cat in the Hat drives. She also quickly picked up on the facts and the next time we read the story, she remembered that turtles live in water and tortoises on land.
