"No more diapers for me." That's what toddlers will proudly proclaim after they hear this appealing tale of a lovable duck who takes the big step. When Piggy can't come out to play because he's busy sitting on the potty, Ducky realizes it's time to grow up, too. A sweet and subtle story, with two huggable animals that children will embrace.

Let Piggy and Ducky set a great example for your little one in No More Diapers for Ducky! as they begin their potty training endeavor. The story is told in simple sentences and very large font so your child can follow along, or you can help them by moving along the text with your finger. Each page includes dialogue to further engage your child through distinctive and fun voices for each character. The pictures are very cute charcoal and water color depictions of a little duck and a little pig learning to use the potty, reading, and playing with toys while they wait.

Even if this book doesn't spark questions about the potty from your child - although it likely will - it opens the door for an easy segue into 'the potty talk'. Your child may find it funny or silly to see either of the characters sitting on the potty, but it is a great opportunity for you to stress that they are doing the right thing. Piggy sets a great example by remaining on the potty as long as it takes to get his business done. He doesn't even let Ducky's pleading to come play deter him. Your child may also recognize and relate to Ducky's facial expression and body language when it's time to go potty. Hopefully, they can make it to the bathroom in time, just like Ducky! Encourage your child to flip through the pages and ask any questions they have.

This book was read to my niece, Emily, when she was almost done with her potty training. Her mom stopped frequently to explain further what was going on and see if Emily had any questions. Emily's only question was "why are Ducky's diaper's fuzzy?"
