Nancy Tillman's On The Night You Were Born is a sweet and compelling bedtime story. It focuses on cute animals who are sharing love with their children. It contains beautifully expressive artwork that captures serene scenes of affection.
This is a great story that children will find very comforting. The messages of love will reinforce just how important they are. Your child will relate to the scenes in the book and will feel surrounded by love.
I have read this as a bedtime book with all of my nieces and nephews. The rhymes and soft images make them very relaxed. It even gets their attention when they are antsy and not interested in sleeping. The book is an excellent way to share love with your little one right before they go to sleep.

Our son is adopted, so I'm always looking for adoption-friendly books that are sensitive to this subject. This book is an excellent selection for any children, whether adopted or not. My favorite line in the book is, "Heaven blew every trumpet and played every horn on the wonderful, marvelous night you were born." I look forward to sharing this book with my son for years, reinforcing how special he is as a person and as our son!
