Real Wheels is a fantastic series of videos that explore all sorts of vehicles and machines. In this set of episodes, rescue vehicles of all types take center stage. From police cars and helicopters to fire trucks, the shows provide technical insight into these interesting machines. The DVD also includes some special features such as a blooper reel and some sing-a-long songs.

Dave and Becky, the hosts of the show, aim to make little ones laugh by appealing to young senses of humor throughout these episodes. They also set out to teach children about safety and why safety is important. These lessons are told through interviews with various rescue personnel such as firefighters, police officers, and paramedics. Your child will love to learn about the real people in these important jobs.

My nephew, Michael, has a serious obsession with vehicles and has slept with Matchbox cars since he was two years old. He enjoys all of the videos from the Real Wheels series but considers this one of his favorites because of all sirens. If you have a little fan of big, loud vehicles they will be totally engaged by this video.

Ken Urman's success in children's programming began over 15 years ago, when he realized through his two small children were often inundated with fantasy and make-believe at the expense of educational entertainment. Ken believed that the natural world could be made just as interesting to kids as the fictional one. So he began to consider the idea of a new kind of series for children - a series which would not only amuse them, but which would also pique their natural curiosity about the world them.

Ken put this idea into practice directly - by creating Real Wheels. His goal was to help kids understand and learn how these big vehicles worked. He wanted to include parents in the viewing, and he believes that part of the success is because parents enjoy the programs as much as their kids. The programs are live action and reality based so there is no fascination or animation. Ken believes the host 'Dave' is a terrific guide that audiences relate too. He is convinced that with each viewing, kids experience new things. The videos contain multiple episodes, updated material and interactive opportunities.

Ken is a graduate of the University of Southern California business school.
