Real Wheels: Tractor Adventures
by Warner Home Video

Farms and ranches have some of the most cool "real wheels" around.  In Tractor Adventures, kids can ride along on a tractor and a farm truck, steer a herd of cattle down the ramp of a flatbed trailer, meet the animals and see how the vehicles are used by farmers. This video also introduces kids to dump trucks of all shapes and sizes.

This video also introduces kids to dump trucks of all shapes and sizes.

This video is another addition to the Real Wheels collection that takes a fun and realistic look at all types of tractors. The video does an excellent job of describing technical and mechanical details in a straightforward and easy-to-follow manner. These busy vehicles are seen in all sorts of settings, and the host takes the time to interview several operators of these machines.

Young fans of vehicles and machines will enjoy these terrific episodes. Each one is aimed at kids, but does not shy away from providing a lot of factual details. The episode focusing on the farm trucks even delves into the process and the business of farming, which will be interesting to your little viewer.

My nephew, Michael, is fascinated by vehicles of all sorts, and the discussion of tractors and trucks really made him happy. Not only did he learn a lot about what these machines do, but he loved how dirty they got. Watching the trucks move loads of soil and cement around made him absolutely giddy with excitement. This is unsurprising, since Michael's motto for life is: the messier, the better.

Ken Urman's success in children's programming began over 15 years ago, when he realized through his two small children were often inundated with fantasy and make-believe at the expense of educational entertainment. Ken believed that the natural world could be made just as interesting to kids as the fictional one. So he began to consider the idea of a new kind of series for children - a series which would not only amuse them, but which would also pique their natural curiosity about the world them.

Ken put this idea into practice directly - by creating Real Wheels. His goal was to help kids understand and learn how these big vehicles worked. He wanted to include parents in the viewing, and he believes that part of the success is because parents enjoy the programs as much as their kids. The programs are live action and reality based so there is no fascination or animation. Ken believes the host 'Dave' is a terrific guide that audiences relate too. He is convinced that with each viewing, kids experience new things. The videos contain multiple episodes, updated material and interactive opportunities.

Ken is a graduate of the University of Southern California business school.
