In Travel Adventures, host Dave takes the viewer on an exploration of trains, buses, and planes. The episodes are packed with interviews with people who make their living in the field of transportation. The real life examples of these various vehicles provide a lot of insight into the mechanics and job possibilities in the transportation arena. This half hour program is an excellent introduction to many advanced concepts that related to transportation.

As they watch each episode on this video, your child will love to hear about the vehicles from such a friendly and knowledgeable host. Your child will already have some familiarity with planes, trains, and buses, but this program will illustrate the details of how they all work. The program will pique curiosities and provide information about some facts and history that may be unfamiliar to both you and your child. The DVD also includes extras like a music video and bloopers to add a little levity to the educational experience.

I watched this video with my nephew, Michael, an avid connoisseur of all things that move. He especially liked seeing the episode that dealt with various types of planes, since he's already a big fan of aviation. After we watched it together, he announced that he wanted to be a pilot. The show is very entertaining and exposes children to the kinds of jobs that adults do to keep our transportation system working.

Ken Urman's success in children's programming began over 15 years ago, when he realized through his two small children were often inundated with fantasy and make-believe at the expense of educational entertainment. Ken believed that the natural world could be made just as interesting to kids as the fictional one. So he began to consider the idea of a new kind of series for children - a series which would not only amuse them, but which would also pique their natural curiosity about the world them.

Ken put this idea into practice directly - by creating Real Wheels. His goal was to help kids understand and learn how these big vehicles worked. He wanted to include parents in the viewing, and he believes that part of the success is because parents enjoy the programs as much as their kids. The programs are live action and reality based so there is no fascination or animation. Ken believes the host 'Dave' is a terrific guide that audiences relate too. He is convinced that with each viewing, kids experience new things. The videos contain multiple episodes, updated material and interactive opportunities.

Ken is a graduate of the University of Southern California business school.
