This book is part of Helen Oxenbury's delightful board book series and is a perfect way for your little one to start getting interested in books. The bold colors that make up the large images on each page keep things very simple but intriguing to the eye. Also, the scenes of playtime in the book give way to the babies saying goodnight at the end, which might just make the task of putting your child to bed a little easier.

Young babies will enjoy practicing turning the book's thick cardboard pages. Through this activity, the child will feel more connected to the process of reading. These sturdy pages will also allow your child to do a great deal of chewing on the corners without causing too much damage.

This book was a favorite when trying to get my brother Thomas to settle down at bedtime. Since getting a little one to bed is sometimes a struggle, this book always relaxed Thomas as I read the simple, rhythmic text. Regardless of the time of day though, Thomas always loved the cute baby characters and bright colors.
