Join Bert and Ernie on 13 different great adventures from deep sea diving for an eight-legged wonder, traveling through space to meet friendly Martians, or even travelling back in time to the Stone age! Our favorite Sesame Street duo appear in fun clay animation with several new friends like a dinosaur, a penguin, a wizard who turns in to a frog, and even a guest appearance from their old friend, Elmo! The adventures are filled with humor, like a penguin who thinks Bert is a daddy penguin and gives him a penguin egg to sit on, or in a different adventure when a goat dresses up like a duck and tries to quack. The adventures include songs that are easy to learn and fun to sing along to, lessons about friendship and teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
Like all Sesame Street videos, Bert & Ernie's Great Adventures is filled with creativity and encourages viewers to use their imagination. Would they want to shrink themselves and ride around in a remote control car like Ernie? What would they do if they met an opera singing beaver in the rainforest? Would they want to deep sea dive with Ernie, or stay on the beach and collect seaweed with Bert? How fun would it be to climb a mountain, solve mysteries, or be kung fu masters like Bert and Ernie?! Ask your child where he or she would go if they could travel anywhere in their dreams, and encourage them to elaborate on their answers. Would they travel to the desert to ride a camel? Or maybe travel to Japan and try real sushi for the first time? The possibilities are only limited by imagination.
When I watched this video with my three year-old friend Sam, he said, "Bert and Ernie look like Bob the Builder!" It took me a minute to follow what he was saying, but then I figured out it was because Bob the Builder is clay animation as well. I asked Sam what his favorite adventure was, and he picked when Bert and Ernie were cooking and made a huge mess. I have a feeling it reminded Sam of one of his own messy adventures in the kitchen.
