This math-tastic DVD is full of numbers and shapes, plus critical math concepts such as over/under and forward/backwards. All your favorite Sesame Street friends are on the top of their game. Join the Count as he plays golf and races a car in the Transylvania 300. Prairie Dawn shows off her soccer skills and then joins Dominic Dawes for a little gymnastics. If you love basketball, don't miss Grover and Vince Carter of the New Jersey Nets explaining "short" and "tall". And who but Elmo could beat Venus Williams at a game of imaginary tennis? So join the Sesame Street team for lots of sports fun!
Encourage your preschooler to incorporate athletics and math into their everyday lives with help from sportscasters Ernie and Bert and an assortment of other beloved Sesame Street characters in this fun-filled DVD. With sports ranging from golf to soccer to gymnastics, there is bound to be a sport for everyone. Kids will love the classic goofiness of Bert and Ernie, such as when Ernie repeatedly drops a pile of balls on Bert, and will watch in awe as real-life sports stars demonstrate professional tricks, including Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes performing an impressive tumbling pass and tennis star Venus Williams playing imaginary tennis with Elmo.
The flip side of sports is math, which Bert eagerly focuses on by counting all the sports balls in the room and organizing them by size. Of course, no counting exercise would be complete without an appearance by The Count, who helps kids count up to 40 while watching cars zoom around the race track. Various sports rules are comically introduced to viewers via Prairie Dawn and Grover, such as the no hands rule of soccer and that "Fore!" means "Look out!" in golf. A trip to the ballpark introduces kids to many shapes, including diamonds, spheres, triangles and even a pentagon! Ernie leads the viewers in a seventh inning stretch as well to encourage your child to get up and move while watching the video.
As an aspiring gymnast, three-year-old Emily watched Dominique Dawes in awe as she performed flips and jumps. She also found Elmo's pretend game of tennis with Venus Williams to be quite comical and thought that Elmo's tricycle ride in the park looked like a lot of fun!
