Once upon a time, there was a diaper-wearing princess who wouldn't use her potty. Her royally frustrated parents were beside themselves; what could they do? In this comical look at toilet training, the answer comes from an unlikely source - the princess herself.

Little girls will fall head over heels for this classic potty training story about a princess who is hesitant to use the toilet until she sees the frilly advantages - namely a pair of beautiful pantalettes. For children with a princess obsession, you couldn't find a more fitting potty training book. Young princesses-in-training will love the princess' beautiful gowns and will hopefully want to follow suit when she decides it's time to use the big girl potty.

Obviously, this is the perfect story for potty training little girls. You can follow the ideas of the King and Queen and see if playing music or reading books will help entertain your child while she tries to use the toilet. Or perhaps your child, like the princess, will be enticed by the offer to take her shopping for pretty new panties that she can wear once she becomes potty trained.

Although Emily, the three-year-old that I babysit, has been potty trained for about nine months, she still enjoyed this story. She giggled at the assortment of potties, including ones that were polka dotted, musical and glow-in-the-dark, that the royal helpers brought to the princess and cheered when the princess finally decided to leave behind her royal diaper in favor of the beautiful pantalettes. Always fashion-forward, Emily decided that she would have chosen to wear the frilly pantalettes too.
