With his beautiful illustrations and the help of some battery powered lights, Eric Carle has created another classic story that your child will adore. The engaging story follows a lonely firefly that is searching for other fireflies in the night. The story emphasizes the importance of persistence, and the happy ending of the book will warm anyone's heart.

Your child will enjoy holding the sturdy book and following the story. The plot of the story will also captivate your child's interest, as they become sympathetic to the firefly's struggle to find his friends. "The firefly saw a light and flew toward it" is a common refrain throughout, and the repetition will likely encourage your child to start recognizing the text.

The first time I encountered this book was when I was watching my neighbor's daughter Lexi. When she opened up the last page of the book, I was pretty excited by the flashing lights of the other fireflies and knew I had to share it with my nieces and nephews. I bought a new copy and read it to my niece Audrey. On the last page, she started laughing and all she could say was "Wooooow!" This book is sure to wow your little one as well.
