The alligator under his bed makes a boy's bedtime hazardous operation, until he lures it out of the house and into the garage.
This is a wonderful story about overcoming fears and solving problems. The story follows a boy who insists that there is an alligator under his bed. His parents do not believe him so he has to figure out how to usher this unwanted beast out of his house. The kid hero of the story is resourceful, and the book is, a constant hit with children.
The pages do not contain too much text, which allows children of varying reading levels to enjoy it. By addressing fears related to falling asleep, the book empowers children to overcome these issues. The expressive illustrations are also large enough to engage your child's attention.
This book was around when I was a child, and it has been a lot of fun to introduce it to my nieces and nephews. My nephew Michael went through a phase where there were a lot of imaginary items inhabiting his world. He liked the book so much because it reassured him that he was safe in his own house, and that alligators really don't live under beds.
