Where Do I Sleep?: A Pacific Northwest Lullaby

Where Do I Sleep?: A Pacific Northwest Lullaby
by Jennifer Blomgren

In this lovely bedtime book, Where do I sleep? is asked and answered by baby animals native to the Pacific Northwest. A sea otter, blacktail deer, bald eagle, sea anemone, mountain goat, grey wolf, hermit thrush, and other little animals (including a human child) describe their sleeping habits and habitats in verse that educates as it soothes.

Written as a lullaby, the repetitive, restful text fascinates children while calming them in preparation for sleep. Beautifully hued pastels depict the baby animals and their homes with charm and tenderness.

This tender and sweet bedtime story focuses on the animal life from the Pacific Northwest. If you're from that area, you'll love this fond representation of the region's wildlife. If you're from elsewhere, the book will provide you with a lot of specific information about the Pacific Northwest. Each page is devoted to a different animal, and is beautifully portrayed.

The book focuses on the caring relationship between parent and child. The illustrations are gorgeous and will command the attention of your little one. It is filled with interesting information about animal habits and has some great wildlife facts.

My niece Audrey loves the different animals in this book, and it is a perfect bedtime story. The child on the last page is cuddled in their bed, which made Audrey even more relaxed and cozy when we read together. The book is a great choice for any time of the day, but seems to make a particularly profound impact when the day is over.
