Age: 1 Year-old | Title: Where is Baby's Mommy?  |  Author: Karen Katz  |  Publisher: Little Simon

Baby looks for Mommy everywhere until he gets a hug. This sturdy board book features large flaps that little hands can handle.

With bright colors and an interactive lift-the-flap format, toddlers will love this story about a young child playing hide-and-seek with its mother. This board book encourages youngsters to follow along in the search and look behind shower curtains, in closets and under the table. The red-headed child in red-and-yellow polka-dotted overalls is illustrated with adorable facial expressions and the other objects in the story will be easy for kids to identify.

Thanks to little clues, like a stuffed bears ears peeking out beneath the table or a cat's tale snaking out behind the armchair, children can guess what's behind the flap rather than just opening it to find out. Sharp-eyed kids may also notice that each object they find, from the wagon to rubber ducks, accompanies the toddler on its quest to find mother. This book may even inspire your child to want to play a game of hide-and-seek with you!

Although Emily, the girl I babysit, is older than this book's target audience, the three-year-old still loves to read this type of book. She loves lifting the flap and finding the hidden objects. Before opening the page, she even enthusiastically says, "Let's see!" It just goes to prove that even older children love revisiting their toddler favorites.
