Wow! Wow! Wobbzy is an Emmy-winning educational series designed for Preschool aged children - but that doesn't mean their older siblings, parents, and grandparents won't also love this adorable video. It has five episodes with two bonus episodes, each with an important life lesson for your child, and fun songs to help with retention. The songs are frequent and quite catchy - you'll find yourself singing along with you child!
In the title episode, Pirate Treasure, Wubbzy and his friends go to the library and pick out a variety of different books. Wubbzy selects a book about pirates and discovers a treasure map in it! Wuzzy and her friends have fun dressing up and pretending to be pirates while searching for the treasure. Wubbzy assures her friends many times that there will be a treasure if they 'just believe'. The treasure ends up being the fun of the adventure - not a prize of gold or riches. This is a great lesson for your child to learn! In other episodes, Wubbzy and friends go camping (Wubzzy in the Woods), to the beach (Walden on the Beach), and to Plaidsville (The Grass is Always Plaider).
Wubbzy's positive attitude and great imagination will have an influence on your child! They will learn how work gets done faster with teamwork, deductive reasoning, facing fears, and healthy ways to deal with boredom, as well as how to appreciate the things they have. Help your child understand the lessons in each episode by asking questions about how the lesson may be relevant to your child's life or situation. Have they ever been lost like Wubbzy was in the woods? What should they do if they do get lost? Have they been to the beach before? Do they know how to swim? How do they like to use their imagination? It's also fun to sing and dance along with the songs after each episode!
My friend Dano just turned three and loved this video. We spread the movie over a two-day period, watching only one episode at a time. Each episode sparked fun conversation between us and encouraged us to use our imaginations to create new games to play. Dano loved playing pirates!
